What We Believe

The faith
once delivered.

The Bible is the supreme source of truth for what we believe and is completely relevant to our daily lives. These nine convictions hold us together.

The Bible

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine.”

2 Timothy 3:16

The Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testament Scriptures, is God's eternal, inerrant word given to human beings. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for what we believe and is completely relevant to our daily lives.

God

“Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD.”

Deuteronomy 6:4

God is the all-knowing, all-powerful, and ever-present creator and ruler of the universe, existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — who are co-equal members of one Godhead.

Satan

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about.”

1 Peter 5:8

Satan is a fallen angel who is the open and declared enemy of God and His creation, and who will be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire.

Humanity

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him.”

Genesis 1:27

Human beings, both male and female, are made in the image of God and are created to have a personal relationship with Him. But because of Adam's original sin we have all been born as sinners, separated from God and condemned to spiritual death. As such, we are unable to remedy this lost condition on our own.

Jesus Christ

“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory.”

John 1:14

Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He was fully man and fully God who lived a sinless life on earth. He was voluntarily crucified for us, suffering God's righteous wrath toward sin. He rose from the dead to defeat death and ascended to Heaven to sit at the right hand of God the Father to intercede for us. He will return one day in victory to reign forever.

Salvation

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”

Ephesians 2:8

Salvation is a gift from God that is offered freely to all who repent of their sin and trust in Jesus Christ, who by His own blood shed on the cross obtained eternal redemption for all believers. Salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.

The Holy Spirit

“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost… he shall teach you all things.”

John 14:26

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity. He convicts people of their sin and their need for Jesus Christ as Savior. He lives in every Christ-follower from the moment of salvation and seals them until the day of redemption. He comforts, equips, and empowers each believer for spiritual growth, worship, and service.

The Local Church

“For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

Matthew 18:20

The local church is the community of baptized believers unified through faith in Christ. The role of the church is to communicate the Good News of Jesus Christ to the world, to teach believers to live out Christ's teachings, and to equip them for service.

Eternity

“And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”

Matthew 25:46

Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God by sin in hell, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation in heaven. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.

Grace alone. Faith alone.
Christ alone.
